Entrants must not older than 35 years of age and hold an M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D.
The entrant's essay must describe research that have made significant advances in applying techniques from one domain to address questions in another-- for example, methods to ivestigate problems of causal interference, understand complex networks or perform image recognition that have been developed in both social science and life science contexts. Alternatively, research that focused in the life sciences to answer questions related to the collective or individual behavior of humans in the fields of psychology, economics, politcal science, or sociology.
The entrant must have performed or directed the work described in the essay.
The research must have been performed during the previous three years.
Employees of the NOMIS Foundation, its subsidiaries, Science and AAAS, and their relatives are not eligible for the prize.
